Frank Armijo, the general manager and program director at Lockheed Martin Information Technology in Richland and management information systems graduate at EWU, was named the Tri-Citian of the year for 2006 for his efforts in economic and community development in his hometown(s).

Armijo was saluted for leading the lobbying for the evolution to four-year college status for WSU-Tri Cities.
