The Eastern community lost one of its own this weekend in a tragic rafting accident on the Clark Fork River in Montana. Freshman Sara Varnum, 18, drowned after being pinned under a partially-submerged log after she either fell out or was thrown out of the raft she was in. Deatils in the following newspaper stories:
